What is Preplanning?
Preplanning is a process that gives all stakeholders to a property (or special event) the “inside information” allowing for a more efficient and timely response to help save lives, property, money; and help to manage risk. Blazemark incorporates Standards from NFPA 1620 to gather the information that includes physical and site considerations, occupant considerations, water supplies, fire protection systems, special hazards, emergency operations, and pre-incident plan testing and maintenance. There is nothing better to assist with building familiarization for firefighters, police officers, medical technicians, environmental health and safety staff and facilities management.
When seconds count, having this information at the tip of your fingers through our secure cloud-based software, will make the difference when it matters most.
The Preplanning Process
Preplanning is a complete concept based on:
-
- Awareness of the Problem
- Management Commitment
- Education
- Prevention
- Protection
- Emergency Organization
By contrast, Blazemark takes a systematic approach:
-
- Types of hazards (hazmat, building, etc.)
- What is likely to happen
- Off-site impact?
- Environmental implications
- Degree of probability incident will occur (history, mitigation, etc.)
- Business continuity, salvage concerns; for example: servers, records, etc.
Custom Preplanning Services
Getting started with pre-planning is easy but can become overwhelming due to volume, lack of expert resources, or complexity of the target hazards We can provide expert consultants for emergency planning. You can choose to accompany your Blazemark subscription with our experts conducting the preplanning of targets or we can conduct one-time or ongoing audit reviews of your plans.
“…providing the resources needed to ensure that there is a minimal interruption to their business should an emergency response occur.”
All work is performed by trained and experienced emergency response officers under the supervision of a seasoned Professional Engineer in Fire Protection Engineering (currently registered in PA, NJ, WY.) who has over 40 years of fire service experience.
The preplanning process benefits the community as well as property/business owners by providing the resources needed to ensure that there is a minimal interruption to their business should an emergency response occur, while fostering a working partnership with the local first responders through planning and education. Additionally, some property insurance companies offer a rate discount if a pre-plan has been developed. Pre-planning has a significant impact on your ISO rating.

We have been involved in instructing ALL HAZARD preplanning to industry, government, and first responders throughout the world. We have accomplished this with hands-on working with our clients.
